What can I expect?
Meetings are pretty informal. We are a group of about 30 moms at a meeting. We welcome each other in fellowship as we drop off our children in their age appropriate MOPS Kids rooms from 9:15-9:30. The MOPS Kids rooms are located in the same building as where the moms meet and there are always multiple childcare workers in each room. We then move into the sanctuary and our meeting begin at 9:30. We spend time in fellowship with snacks and coffee and tea. Our meetings also usually contain a devotion, discussion, and a creative activity.
Throughout the year, we will also have special events such speakers, special meetings, and more. Check the calendar for more information on special events.
There is a registration and membership aspect to MOPS. This year, we’ve made online registration available to all members. Once you know you are ready to register for the year, send us an e-mail at SarverMOPS@gmail.com and we’ll get you all the information you need.
You also have the option to register at a meeting. We’ve made the registration forms available to you on the members page if you’d like to take care of the paperwork ahead of time. Simply print, fill out, and bring with you to a meeting.
Please note, you do NOT have to do either of these! We are more than willing to walk you through registration at a meeting and answer any questions you might have. In fact, we make it a point to build time for registration into our first meeting.
Why become a member?
By becoming a member of Sarver MOPS, you’ll be joining a local community of mothers of young children. The MOPS International Website states, “Your membership makes it possible for moms around the world to get the support and encouragement of MOPS! Along with the fun perks of being a registered member, you are part of a movement that is changing the world for generations.” We couldn’t agree more.
What do I get with my registration?
We strive to make registration simple and straightforward. Part of registration is dues. For the 2016-2017 year, MOPS International dues are $24.95 and Sarver MOPS dues are $45. You will be writing two separate checks. Once registered with MOPS International, they will send you a welcome package.
The welcome package contains:
- All The Things: Journal, Planner, and Heart-Healer: a guidebook to help transform your year.
- Postcards and prints to spread some love
- A bracelet that matches our annual theme
- Annual subscription to Hello, Dearest Magazine
- Weekly inspiring emails
- A special benefit from Brightpeak Financial
- And, of course, a few surprises that’ll cause spontaneous smiles!
Your Sarver MOPS dues go towards running our group. This includes everything from childcare to crafts (and everything in between!). Please note, if you are not bringing children to MOPS, you will receive a discount.
When do I need to register and pay?
You do not need to register before coming to a meeting. You do not even need to register at your first meeting. Come to a meeting or event, decide if you think Sarver MOPS is a good fit for you, then we can talk about registration.
Still have more questions?
